The Battle is On - This Is Why Americans Are Buying Guns And Need Firearm Training

Americans are fighting battles on several fronts, and literally so. Starting with COVID-19, which ensured that the police could no longer protect you as you expected. Add the protests occasioned by the death of George Floyd caused lawlessness on a scale only witnessed in a major war zone, and we get Americans who realized they needed the means to protect their businesses and their neighborhoods from criminals who took advantage of the protests to loot and commit arson.

Many Americans, including some liberals, found out that the only way to protect themselves is by owning a firearm - a very unfortunate situation for those living in gun-controlled, crime-ridden, liberal cities such as Lightfoot's Chicago or DeBlasio's New York where crime has risen by double-digit numbers.

Neighborhoods such as downtown Seattle started carrying out armed patrols to ensure criminals did not take over the streets.

The Defund the Police movement also cemented the people’s belief that darker days lay ahead. Cities such as New York cut up to $1 billion in police budgets, effectively reducing the police capacity to carry their operations.

Having the most anti-gun pair running on a Democratic ticket and on an anti-gun platform also implied that it was time to stock up - although we don’t expect them to win.

Statistics on gun ownership are impressive, indicating that Americans were serious about exercising their Second Amendment rights. However, to effectively defend themselves, Americans need to embrace professional firearm training. Formal firearm training allows you to proficiently and safely handle a firearm in self-defense, sports, or hunting. Additionally, training is a requirement for gun licensing in some states.

While anti-gun authorities use firearm training to infringe on the Second Amendment by creating hurdles to firearm ownership, their actions should not diminish the need for firearm training. In fact, anti-gun activists and authorities benefit more when many Americans fail to get proper firearm training. That was among the reasons such authorities closed shooting ranges using COVID-19 as an excuse despite the DHS designating them as essential businesses. For Americans wishing to enforce their gun rights, firearm training is a crucial part of defending the Second Amendment rights.

Surprisingly, many Americans who own firearms for self-defense are less likely to be trained (handguns - 57%, long guns-47%) compared to those who use it for hunting or sports (68%). Prioritizing self-defense should be encouraged because it does save lives.

Arming yourself with knowledge could be the determining factor between life and death during violent encounters.

Additionally, your weapon could cause you unintended injuries if you're not well trained to efficiently handle it professionally - much to the joy of anti-gunners. Being unable to fully utilize the full capability of your firearm is another consequence of the lack of proper firearm training.

Apart from the hard skills gained, firearm training also equips you with information on various topics related to legal issues, de-escalation procedures, and how to avoid getting into trouble for incorrectly handling a firearm or using it in self-defense - something that happens regularly.

Indeed, firearm training is a slap in the face of anti-gun authorities wishing to violate the Second Amendment using it as an excuse.
